FAQs

  • Many of us have little or no experience of being listened to deeply and without judgement. The people we are closest to have their own opinions, agendas and wishes, and we may want to protect them or fear being rejected if we show our true selves.

Therapy offers a safe space just for you to reflect on and talk about your experiences and feelings with a trained professional. Your therapist can support and accompany you to explore ways to manage your distress and help you in moving forward.

  • To book an initial consultation please call Charlotte on 07396 810749, use the contact form, or send an email to charlottebloortherapy@gmail.com sharing your availability and whether you’d like online or in-person therapy.

  • Your initial consultation gives you the opportunity to explain your situation and to find your feet in the therapeutic environment. This might be your first experience of speaking to someone completely independent, and I want you to be able to feel comfortable and understand fully how therapy can help you.

That’s why in our first session we will cover:

    • What’s brought you to therapy

    • Your background

    • Your hopes for attending therapy

    • Our working agreement

This is the perfect time to see if we are a good fit for one another. There is no pressure to begin regular therapy beyond this point. If either of us feels we are not the right fit for any reason, I will endeavour to refer you to an alternative therapist.

  • Should you wish to start regular therapy following your initial consultation, we will meet for 50-minutes on a weekly basis. It is important to note that this will be at the same time and on the same day as our initial consultation unless agreed otherwise. This is to provide consistency, structure and helps to create a safe container for the work.

I usually ask that you commit to 6 further sessions, at which point we will have a review to see how you are finding our work together and whether you’d like to continue working with an open-ended agreement or for a fixed number of sessions. Of course, you can also decide to end therapy.

  • I ask that you commit to 6 sessions i.e. 6 weeks following the initial consultation. At this point we will have a review to reflect on where we are at. You can decide whether you would like to continue working together for a fixed number of sessions or in an open ended agreement. Of course, you can decide at any time that you’re ready to end therapy.
